It’s April so it must be the Whitby Goth Festival. The black clad night dwellers are gathering in force for their twice yearly coven.
Much drinking, dancing and putting money into the local tourist shops ensues as the town becomes “Goth Friendly” for another weekend.
For those curious about what goes on at these events, information is online, along with where to get last minute tickets.
As well as the official gigs at the Whitby Spa theatre, there is a full itinerary of side events including several picnics, the dogwalk, the the beach bonfire, and the now legendary Real Gothic Vs Whitby Gazette football match. The ideal hangover cure.
This April has several special events. Firstly, several of the smaller venues are donating their takings to an appeal for one of the longtime organizers who wants to walk with tigers before her illness gets too far progressed, and also there is the dedication of the Sophie Lancaster Memorial bench.
