It’s April so it must be the Whitby Goth Festival. The black clad night dwellers are gathering in force for their twice yearly coven.

Much drinking, dancing and putting money into the local tourist shops ensues as the town becomes “Goth Friendly” for another weekend.

For those curious about what goes on at these events, information is online, along with where to get last minute tickets.

As well as the official gigs at the Whitby Spa theatre, there is a full itinerary of side events including several picnics, the dogwalk, the the beach bonfire, and the now legendary Real Gothic Vs Whitby Gazette football match. The ideal hangover cure.

This April has several special events. Firstly, several of the smaller venues are donating their takings to an appeal for one of the longtime organizers who wants to walk with tigers before her illness gets too far progressed, and also there is the dedication of the Sophie Lancaster Memorial bench.

In the name of rampant consumerism, if you want a new corset, a fishnet shirt, or some skinny jeans with big boots, flex your credit card down at the Bizarre Bazar. Theres something for everyone, ok, I lie, not everyone, but you never know what you might find.

Faster than a Bugatti Veyron, and under half the price, you could have the exclusivity of the only SSC Ultimate Aero TT in the UK.

The advert for the car is on the Auto Trader site, and as you can see, the car is hardly lacking in equipment, with large screen navigation, a premium audio system and air conditioning.

It is even pensioner friendly. The record breaking run was performed with 71-year-old driver Chuck Bigelow behind the wheel.

Is it a bird, is it a plane, is it the Batmobile? No it’s the Flatmobile.

Built by a former twice holder of the “World’s lowest car” record with his previous cars, the Flatmobile is an attempt to get Guinness world records to return to recognizing the lowest car in the world as a valid record again, as they did with his previous cars.

The worlds lowest car record has been a hard fought two horse race between “Flatman and Blobbin” Builders of the Flatmobile and Andy Saunders, a UK custom builder well known on the custom car scene.
